tuffweek

Family logistics arrive through too many doors, and one parent ends up as the human switchboard. Parents average about four school and activity emails a day, schools run ten to fifteen apps, and 70 percent of full time working parents handle parenting tasks during work. The missing piece is not a calendar. It is the work of noticing, deciding who handles it, and catching changes in time. tuffweek does that reading and noticing. The name comes from teen slang: tuff means good, and the goal is a week that runs well.

Who it is for

Built for

Parents running a household for more than one kid, sports families most of all, and the kids, who get a read only view of their own schedule.

What is in it

What we are building

  • Catch. School and team emails forwarded from Gmail, photos of flyers, pasted texts, and calendar feeds from TeamSnap, Canvas, Veracross, the school and the family Google Calendar.
  • Confirm. AI pulls out dates, times, places and to-dos. A parent confirms each one before it reaches the calendar; unsure items are flagged.
  • Own. Every task gets an owner, so the load is visible and shared instead of sitting with one parent by default.
  • Brief. A short morning brief, change alerts by text, and a read only view for each kid with only their own schedule. Kids never talk to the AI.
  • Four small AI jobs, each checked: reading the mail, writing the brief, answering “what do we need for Saturday?”, and turning place names into addresses a parent picks from. All calls run on the server. Mail, photos and PDFs are read once and not stored.
  • Runs on Cloudflare (Workers, D1, Email Routing, Access sign in) at a few dollars a month per family. Planned as freemium: a free tier with one feed, manual entry and the kid view; a family plan at about $9.99 a month or $79 a year.
  • Two design directions on the table for the same three screens, Calm and Bold. Names and events in the mockups are placeholders.
Progress

Where it stands

  1. Concept
  2. Spec
  3. Prototype
  4. Family versionBuilt and tested locally with sample data: email intake, five calendar feeds with move and cancel detection, two way family Google Calendar, texts with quiet hours, maps, kid views, Access sign in. Not yet run with a live family or the live Claude API.

Next upRun it with one real family, then settle the open questions: final name and domain, which team or class goes first, zero data retention with Anthropic at launch, and a legal review of shared rides and backup care before Circles ships.
