HomeKeep

Most households cannot prove what they own, and they routinely lose track of where things are. Nearly half of U.S. residents have never made a home inventory, and the average person spends two and a half days a year looking for misplaced items. Inventory apps are built for a once a year insurance chore, so the list goes stale. HomeKeep does two jobs most apps keep apart: it is claim ready proof for insurance, and it is a daily find my stuff tool. The second job brings people back every week, and that keeps the inventory current for the first.

Who it is for

Built for

Homeowners and renters, anyone moving, and anyone who has ever tried to file a contents claim from memory.

What is in it

What we are building

  • Find anything. The home screen shows the house as a cross-section: attic, floors, basement, garage and shed. Each level opens a floor plan, each room lists its items by storage spot, and the Ask assistant answers plain questions with the full location path and a pin on the plan.
  • Capture without typing. One camera handles items, serial labels, receipts and documents. AI identifies the item, reads model and serial numbers, matches it to retail listings for a replacement value, and suggests a location to confirm.
  • Records that hold up. Every item stores level, room, storage type and exact spot, chosen by tapping. A documents vault tracks vital papers and expiry dates. The coverage view compares documented value with the policy limit and lists what still needs proof.
  • Planned as freemium: a free tier with one home, a capped item count, manual locations and Ask; Premium adds unlimited items, AI identification and web pricing, serial and receipt scanning, the vault and claim ready exports. Insurers could offer Premium to policyholders, since documented contents settle faster.
  • Previously listed as Home Inventory.
